I know people that are addicted to crack but I don't associate with them. They scare me.

well no I saw your thread after me and my friend were discussing drug addiction and how its a serious disease that ruins peoples lives

my dad's an alcoholic and one of my friends smokes pot a lot (but claims to not be addicted to it despite trying and failing to quit three times. yeah, ok), so if you count that then yes

I know many people that are/were drug addicts including myself and it really is a sad life. An addicted person has so little control over chemicals...
