In an interview conducted last week, Jimmy Jam, of legendary production duo Jam & Lewis, revealed that he is currently working on the new Janet Jackson album. While not much else in the way of specific info was conveyed, it marks the first time since 2006's '20 Y.O' that Jackson and the duo have worked together.
No, I already knew and it's not that exciting. If she impresses me then I'll be happy. Not keeping my hopes up though. This isn't even real news--it's just Jimmy saying that they're working.
I also heard Tyler Perry say that he wants the exact same cast of WDIGM? for a WDIGM2... I didn't post that either. It doesn't mean anything until there is official word.
I hope JD keeps his grimy little hands off this project, for suresies.
She needs to work with Darkchild again... I mean, seriously... Feedback is the s***! I'm glad she's working with Jimmy again.... I hope she doesn't work with Stargate / Ne-Yo again.... their songs were okay on Discipline, but she really needs a full dance record this time around with hot songs. Perhaps she could add producers like Bloodshy & Avant, Danja, RedOne, etc.?

I'm down with her working on new material, but I hope it isn't this creepy-cold-future-robot hyper-sexual to the point of being scary side of her sexuality that she's been pushing since Damita Jo 5 years ado. I'm convinced that her scary scary dominatrix style is what's killing these albums. Seriously, I would be embarrassed to walk through the check out line with a copy of discipline because of the album cover. And, speaking of Discipline, the lyrics to the song Discipline make me feel like I need to take a shower.
I want to see a warmer, less overtly sexual Janet. The new album needs hot jams, and a few really chill ballads that are still enjoyable, like "That's the Way Love Goes." JJ&TL are great. Her work with Darkchild was great. She can still hit it big, she just needs to keep the dirrty side in check and at the same time produce a few radio smashes.
Does anyone know if she's still signed to a label?
