25. Nick Jonas - Nick Jonas
He actually has a lot of personality on this album. Very fun. Like if 20/20 Experience didn't take itself so seriously? And had good melodies? The production throughout is kind of insane. "Wilderness" is a jam. "Santa Barbara" is on some gorgeous wintery Bon Iver ish. My ultimate fave is still to come in the songs list. Too many disturbing lyrics throughout though, especially on "Jealous" (which is still a bop) and "I Want You": If I can't have you then no one will. Does it scare you that, I know everything / And I won’t keep quiet / You got the key to my heart yeah / I got the key to your apartment / Would you let me in, or I’m breaking in.

24. Pitbull - Globalization
Kind of time to realise that Pitbull is an extremely fun presence? Razor sharp production throughout, and massive pop melodies. The twang of "Fireball" and especially "Day Drinking" are good looks. "Ah Leke" bangs hard. "Time Of Our Lives" is an emotional and inspiring house masterpiece? "Sexy Beaches" shamelessly takes the vibe from "Waves"/"Am I Wrong" and drenches it in sunshine and glorious hooks? "Wild Wild Love" is kind of the low point. This might be higher up if it was actually released in summer.

23. Kitten - Kitten
Kind of a better version of that Sky Ferreira album from last year? Just saying. Loads of epic choruses and dreamy synth-pop arrangements. The way “I’ll Be Your Girl” makes me MELT. The way that tracks 2 and 3 drag kind of makes me not return to it that often though and makes me think it's more inconsistent than it actually is. Bad sequencing.

Haven't bothered with any of these albers.

But kitten sounds interesting

#70-#66: Empire is very underrated. I really hated I Will Never Let You Down at first but it eventually grew on me. Boom Clap is really catchy and fun to sing along with. You're Mine is one of the very few songs I use from MIAMTEC.

Nick Jonas' album is okay.

Nick Jonas sounding like bon iver? Maybe I'll listen to his album now because I need to hear what that sounds like.

And the Kitten album is definitely way better than Sky's.

DA DA DA DA DUM. Basically the whole bottom-end of this list is stuff from the beginning of the year that I overplayed and didn’t have great staying power but are still very cute.

Love the tension and urgency created by the narrative that takes place on the last night of spring break. Such good storytelling combined with a classic country melody. I’ve been all over this beach giiiirl. In every BAR, in every place. <3 But also um how old is Luke. The sexism @ how men are never told to grow up.

62. Ariana Grande feat. The Weeknd - Love Me Harder
Like, we all know a certain deity did this vibe 10000x better this year and that The Weeknd is incapable of doing anything useful, but the beat and the chorus are still bliss.

61. Ed Sheeran - Bloodstream
Just really well-crafted. Patiently builds to a really satisfying, dramatic climax.
