Why are people bringing tour receipts into this? Did Taylor already kick off her 1989 tour? If she did, it'd be fair to bring up comparisons on that department. If she didn't, keep your receipts until she finishes touring. Yes, 1989 is definitely the most successful album since 21. Shake It Off and Blank Space have both managed to smash side to side, her album sales are impressive and she's doing wonders on YouTube as well. She will probably end up selling 7 million albums worldwide which is great nowadays.

Maybe if it is still big 6 months from now, obviously the sales won't be as huge then but if they are staying consistent, I would say yes then

^^ to the above posts, BTW is neither flawless nor iconic nor a masterpiece. half of it is great, half of it is terrible. pretty solid pop album. nothing less, nothing more..

anyway, back on topic....

critical acclaim? check.
commercial acclaim? check.
selling albums like crazy? check.
successful #1 singles? check.

no one else can compare in terms of all four combined. since 21, of course. so yeah, no other star has seen total domination like taylor this era, since adele.

It is looking that way certainly. Obviously we'll have to see how the other singles do. The Tour is shaping up to be her biggest by far with Taylor selling out places like Levi's Stadium in 10 minutes. 29 Stadium dates announced so far and the Asian Leg still to be announced at the very least.
