Being dethroned by a non-godawful song would be preferable.
Like We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together was succeeded by Whistle; that was ok.
Gangnam Style took digital #1 for a number of weeks. That was ok.
Like a G6 took some time from Tay's 3rd era countdown singles. That was ok.
But Funkup Townie is one of the worst things of the year.

Jessie J possibly coming for her 4th big hit in the US.
Feeling Myself is like a mini Dark Horse, it's selling well and is already top 50 on a radio format even though it's not a single yet. It will go top 10 if it gets a music video and crosses over to pop as Nicki and Beyonce always do well on streaming.
I'm kind of glad a load of people performed on TV and overtook Taylor. Her song isn't bad, but it seemed like she was going to be #1 for months if nobody did anything.
I'm surprised Taylor is #5 with Hozier #4 combined. I thought the song would be #1 till the rest of the year, but this is imteresting. 6 weeks on lock on Hot 100, but then it's gonna be interesting

You think Gangnam Style and Whistle are betters songs than Uptown Funk?
2 Mark Ronson - Uptown Funk (feat. Bruno Mars) 0.6238 [+0.0191]
3 Ed Sheeran - Thinking Out Loud 0.6166 [+0.0252]
4 Hozier - Take Me to Church 0.5515 [+0.0136] [combined]
5 Taylor Swift - Blank Space 0.4906 [+0.0106]
Ed has another version at #155, so yeah he's the highest right now. He got the biggest boost.
All these songs deserve the #1 tbh.
