Queen Latifah has little to no musical impact, she won a grammy, but that's it. No one bought her music. Yes she was an original, but I don't know how you blaze a trail with little to no success.

Yeah because having (shortlived) success = having impact. Queen is a trailblazer for Hip Hop, marking the whole feminism/Lady First movement in hip hop when Hip Hop was seen as a misogynistic genre of music. Her being the first female to become a successful actress and entrepreneur. And yes, her being the first female rapper to win a Grammy is IMPACT.

Iggy had a couple of hits off the back of other female acts, got a check and has already faded away. She has done nothing for hip hop or music artists in general. Get out of here with that whitewash mess.

The fact people put her on the same level as Gaga, Katy, Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Taylor Swift always irked me, she has yet to paid her dues to be in their league.

I'm talking music, not outside ventures. Having one hit song, which won one Grammy (Iggy is nominated in the generals), and being the 1st is great, but Iggy has ascended her on a mainstream level and overall success. The Lady's first movement? What are some other examples of this movement?

Yes, she may seem try to make herself appear upper tier, associating herself with queen Bey, etc. But in reality she doesn't have the credentials to be upper tier, yet.

You think female rappers like Nicki and Iggy being able speak up from a female standpoint lyrically in a male dominated genre/industry has nothing to do with impactful songs like "Lady's First" or "U.N.I.T.Y."? Have you EVEN heard of these songs or know Hip Hop to even have this discussion or discredit Queen? Your argument is, "she didn't sell records." "She didn't have pop hits." Not realizing you're discrediting people like Rakim, KRS-One, Public Enemy, NWA and the like, who weren't necessarily huge sellers but had huge political/social influences on the music scene.

I'm not going to sit back and go back and forth with you. Iggy is a fad, not impactful to anybody outside of iTunes buyers who will move on to the next fad.
