Even though ICKI clearly had Ariana sing this in a desperate attempt to keep up with IGGY, it's good. ICKI's verses are awful per par, though.
The entire song is good. The lyrics in Nicki's verses are a little whatever, but the flow & production makes up for it. I really like the song.
I also love the overall instrumental; it seems a lot more subtle, sparse and alternative compared to the in-your-face trap beats in Dark Horse or Black Widow.
The Madonna snippets sound awful. That kind of basic Eurotrash dance music only works with strong, youthful vocals. And no one wants to hear her bragging about being an unapologetic bitch lol.
I wouldn't guarantee Style as an instant smash just yet. Releasing the highest charting song from the album on iTunes doesn't always guarantee success (i.e. Adore You and Tennis Court).

Going for edgy middle schooler this era, obviously. She's going younger than her last era (high school cheerleader in GMAYL).
lol. Madonna is NOT a classic rock band. The drop from S&S to MDNA was pretty steep and it happened despite her taking a huge break b/w tours + a huge spike in the touring market.
400-300-200 is very likely, if not a steeper drop. People are not checking for her like that anymore.
She'll always be able to tour well, though. Just not the massive record breaking tours anymore. Chalk it up to sexism.
