In all seriousness though, thanks for the correction, but it's not really about the charts. I just don't see what good a failed single would do to her career in the long run. And I say failed because Unconditionally, Birthday and TIHWD did just fine despite being way below her standards. Of course I want new videos and performances but I would rather wait for a reissue/new album that will be properly released and promoted than something the label isn't even interesting in pushing. Pushing for something like Choose Your Battles makes more sense, it'd do just as badly but at least it'd be good for her image and increase her artistic credibility.

Success is important. Once she loses her hitmaking status the producers will stop giving her good songs and you all will be whining about those D-list leftovers she will be getting and about how much the quality of the music has declined. I wonder how many #musicnotthebling hashtags we will see then. Seriously, it's not rocket science.
