Let's not compare Nicki to Gaga, as clearly Artpop and C2C (as disappointing as they are) aren't actually flops. Like at all.

The males have so much urban support but Nicki gets almost none, you'd almost expect nicki to sell better because she has the pop support that the males don't especially J. Cole and Drake to a lesser extent. I don't understand it - figures in the rap community have openly said Nicki is a better rapper than a lot of the males but they are still selling twice as much as her.
And then to add salt to the wound, Nicki isn't even selling as much as the pop females 3 albums deep
Lady GaGa: AP - 258,000/725,000
Beyoncé: IA...SF - 482,000/3,120,000
Katy Perry: P - 286,000/1,300,000
Nicki Minaj: TPP - 155,000/-

She's too pop for Urban and too Urban for Pop. She's not selling "bad" because she's a female, she's selling bad because her music caters to casual listeners and not hardcore fans (hence why her songs are somewhat popular, specially on Streaming).
If you compare her with the males that get Pop support like Derulo, Pitbull, Florida she's doing wonderfully well (perhaps because she's a great rapper and gets Urban radio support)

The fact she tried to release these ballads to make herself seem like a more serious artist failed.
LAN Should have been the first single then Anaconda. The Album should have been released in November. I also don't see this album having longevity, It's also going to lose her support in europe.

She should've released in late September/early October. She would've surely pass 200K & gotten that #1.

I don't see how she is getting dragged ! These aren't the worst numbers in the world and she is like only a handful of artist this year to even see over 100k .
Comparing to Iggy , Nicki is doing miles better . Iggy couldnt even get 100k with a number one single
