Sam Smith is so basic. I mean I was tryna use him 'cus he was gay, but he barely even lets it be known so.
His music is so basic and nothing that every other person singing Soul has done. It has no genuine feel to it, it has no type of emotion, it's so bland. It's literally a white guy trying to do Soul.
Idk, maybe he needs some real love experience and to stop having his label shove the closeted / 'masc' vibe to him. You hear him, you hear his vocals, but nothing actually sticks to you.
Like he is so Mariah during Music Box without any actual emotion, or realness to it. I just can't get into it. It's like take a 'Music Box' song without any emotion, strong vocal peak, or feel and you get a Sam Smith song.
