How is it that Mariah, who has written all her songs (minus the covers, obviously), has 88 credits while Beyonce has 89? How is that numerically logical? Mariah has more 13 studio albums, including the Christmas ones, while Beyonce has 5.
She isn't a writer, adding an 'ooh' in the chorus while recording would get her a writing credit. And if you notice almost all of her credits are last, she obviously doesn't contribute much if anything at all to her songs.
The site counts Glee covers + samples, plus Bey has the advantage of high ditigal sales even for non-singles ('Mine' charted due to sales and is counted in the tally) and she released a lot of singles from B'Day and IASF.
Ahh...I see.

That would make Beyonce's album count up to 9 (10 if you count their Christmas album...I don't know if she had any originals on there), Mariah still had more studio albums and songs to be factored in. However, I realize that it's based on charting songs than anything else.
Obviously songwriting is not one of her stronger assests, and it doesnt matter that she doesnt entirely write the songs herself because she makes those songs hers If that kinda makes sense. She makes quality music and thats all that matters and thats why she is able to sell millions of records.
FYI majority of the GP doesnt care / know much of songwriting. See why legends like Whitney Houston were able to have amazing careers with barely writing any material. People simply do not care that much about songwriting.
!!
ATRL is literally the only place where i see people be so butt hurt over artists not writing their own material.
This thread isn't about Beyoncé thought it's about RIHANNA.
On topic: no she's not underrated, she's never pegged herself a songwriter. I would love for her to write more. The only real example of her songwriting that we have to judge is Pour It Up, but that doesn't do her any justice.
the song was written by rock city and produced by Mike WiLL Made It.
rihanna add her own flavor into it later after she got the demo and got credit.
I don't think she's cowritten any of her songs. I think "cowritten" just means she was probably in the studio when with them when were writing it and maybe said "I want a song about eating *****."
Nah, Rihanna has her own strengths, but writing is not one of them.
She could have had it at 89 or something, but I'm glad that she has restraints, and doesn't put her name on every single song even if the contribution in writing is non-existing.
