The fact that Katy's best album is still far behind Taylor's worst in terms of critical acclaim speaks volumes. Taylor >>>>

Yet, she managed to outsell PRISM in what, two weeks?

No matter how much you guys try, those sales don't make her lyrics any less basic
Sorry

Same can be said for Roar, Dark Horse, California Gurls, Hot N Cold, I Kissed A Girl, Waking Up In Vegas, Firework, and especially Last Friday Night.

Even Taylor at 16 wrote more mature lyrics than Katy at nearly 30

They're not. Most of them just think of her as the lunatic serial dater who writes terrible songs like WANEEGBT about her exes. ATRLers love her because not only does she satisfy their fantasy of Britney-like blond haired white popstar, but she also brings in the critical acclaim that they need since most of them can't think for themselves and love to worship anything the critics have on speed dial.

ATRL doesn't Stan for Taylor, It's actually quite the opposite. And that GP manages to buy her albums and singles and manages to keep buying them years later. So, that basically rules out your opinion that the GP isn't here for her. Oh yea, and she's playing 20 stadiums for the 1989 would tour, more stadiums are going to be added as it doesn't start until the end of next year. On top of that, she's deemed Americas Sweetheart by the public. Where are you getting your information from?? Your opinions are always so biased, cringe-inducing

How about the critical and universal acclaim she has received for her songs, the Grammys, the Grammy for AOTY, the record breaking 6 Songwriter of the year awards, Her Songwriter Hall of fame awards, her songwriter hall of fame induction, and multiple other songwriting awards for individual songs?? You were saying??

Taylor. Seriously.
But let's not discredit Katy's songwriting. She's an AMAZING songwriter. Simple, Thinking of You proves that.

What even?
And you're calling my opinions biased and cringeworthy. The Prismatic World Tour will outsell the Red Tour, that's a fact. I'm not saying the GP isn't here for her, but even the millions that buy her albums are a small percentage. At least from what I've heard in the real world most of her core fans (I live in an area where country is big) can't stand her anymore and have lost respect. She's selling albums largely because of new fans.
The critics love Taylor because of who she is, which is evident by the SIO Grammy nominations and reviews of 1989. No one outside of ATRL is really calling 1989 anything groundbreaking or anything.
Sure Taylor's successful. But I'd rather have lyrics like Choose Your Battles and By The Grace of God than "Are we out of the woods yet?" (repeat 15037 times) and "the fakers gonna fake fake fake fake fake".
For a lot of us the choice is obviously Katy. We just like real, adult lyrics, not stuff right out of the diary of a 16 year old and some weak Max Martin diss tracks

Learn the definition of songwriting/songwriter first before commenting.
Quote:
song·writ·er (song′rī′tər, sŏng′-)
n.
One who writes lyrics or tunes, or both, for songs. Also called songsmith, songster.
|
Quote:
songwriter (ˈsɒŋˌraɪtə)
n
1. (Pop Music) a person who composes the words or music for songs in a popular idiom
|
Taylor doesn't just write lyrics, she also composes and co-produces her songs and albums. She is one of the best young songwriters because she can create great songs and write great lyrics. There's a reason why she has received so many songwriting awards compared to other girls in the poll.

That actually gives Katy a stronger case though since her melodies are undeniably better and catchier. Not to mention her excellent use of harmony.

Lyrics: Beyoncé > Taylor > Katy
Melodies: Katy > Beyoncé > Taylor
Ariana hasn't been a writer on enough songs for me to judge.

Your opinions are biased though You literally Just wrote a 150 word essay containing them
The critics love and respect Taylor because she is who she is, a great songwriter who makes great music, and does it on her own. Who cares about the Prismatic tour and if it outsells the RED tour, that wasn't even my point . You stated the GP isn't here for Taylor like they are here on ATRL (which is actually the farthest from the truth, considering it is the other way around), and I commented back saying that she is performing at 20 stadiums on her next tour, so yes, that would be an apparent indication that the GP is here for her. Sorry, that you weren't able to interpret that clearly. NOBODY on ATRL is calling 1989 groundbreaking...NOBODY, What the actual ****?? . However, the critics are, and that's all that matters
Katy could never write a song as good as Out Of The Woods . Which by the way, is UNIVERSALLY acclaimed. Again, the critics>>>>your opinion.

Your welcome for the sig
Don't forget totaler yourself less seriously, it's a big downfall of the swifties.
I'm serious though. Katy sings about things like drug addiction, suicide, and sex while Taylor sings about boys, boys, and boys
