What is Dark Humor?

Humor that is viewed as dark, morbid, cruel, offensive to some, and or graphic in nature and is yet, still found funny.

For example:

If you get easily offended or do not enjoy this type of humor, please show yourself the door.

Dark Humor is what keeps me going.

My friends and I used to have dead baby joke sessions on long bus rides. It's so morbid now that I think about it.

I'm a fan. It can be really funny if done well but only when it's done well. That probably sounds stupidly pretentious since it's just comedy but

I just have a dark sense of humor stemming from all the **** I went through growing up gay as Hell and Catholic as heaven.

I love dark humor! Alfred Hitchcocks's show has some great dark humor episodes.
