I mean he didn't lie. What does Simon have to be pressed over? He's already one of the most influential people in the entertainment industry. Fact is, The Voice has never churned out a star. It's really more about the judges than the contestants. Maybe that's why she decided to go for The Voice instead, but even then, it still hasn't done much for the judges reputations either tbh. She could have been responsible for the next 1D or 5H..
I don't know why people are saying that she made a bad decision, I mean she is big in the UK so it is not like she needs desperately X Factor, being in The Voice may help to open doors in US and other markets where The Voice is way bigger.

Rita is not your average popstar,she has a lot on her plate and as such has to be strategic when choosing projects,for instance in 2015 alone she has two movies coming out and an upcoming movie project to shoot,album and single release,various fashion projects with adidas,rimmel,her clothing and perfume lines etc,as a result of all these Rita chose the voice over X factor because it would be less time consuming,so she can have time to pursue her other projects.Simon is pressed as ****,i am sure he'll be waiting in the wings to snatch her up,once her stint in the voice is over.
Like I said whatever happens in the voice Rita will be okay,because unlike others she has a back up plan.Her movies and fashion deals will ensure that she remains relevant.

This. Doesn't Rita ALREADY have 4 #1's in the UK without the help of any talent show? Any extra gig she takes is just a plus, and no doubt being on The Voice UK will help land her a gig on The Voice US where it is a big show.
