The Epicness of Interstellar
So, i'm not a "Nolanite" however i think i enjoy his films(mostly his most recent work) as pretty much all america does, i mean who didn't like the Dark Knight trilogy, you can point out flaws all you want but surely that's the best comic book trilogy ever put to film, and obviously Inception, one of the smartest Blockbusters released in the 21st century(or the best one)
And that's the thing with Nolan, his films aren't just a story, they are experiences, he really does something no one else does, his movies put ypu right in the place and swing you from side to side as the story moves along, and for that i don't want him to ever stop making films, because nobody else does what he can do so well.
But to the point, up to this point, Nolan's recent work had just been "smart" blockbusters, movies that exceeded the expectations of the genre, but with Interstellar he's CLEARLY wanting to jump to the side where his films will be recognized as a work of art instead of just rare cash cows that actually make you think.
Interstellar is somewhere in between the Nolan that makes thrilling sequences and stories and the one who wants to do more human stories, and this makes this movies his best one yet(imo)
I can see some of the flaws in this movie, however something THIS ambicious hadn't been put to film in decades(i dare say) and you need to encourage this behavior, because if so many others did similar, the film industry would get picked up.
Insterstellar is a thrilling Human story, i just watched it for a 3rd time today and just needed to share some shallow thoughts on it, because i would love to talk spoilers but i don't wanna screw anything to anyone who hasn't seen this film.
