As of October 2014, it looks like Garfield is out of the franchise for good. In an email to The Amazing Spider-Man franchise producer Matthew Tolmach, Pascal outlines some potential plans for introducing the new Peter Parker and Spider-Man characters in Captain America 3.

He was the perfect Peter Parker/Spider-Man. He fit the character perfectly. That aside, it's too early to reboot Spider-Man for the third time. They need to accept under-performances, and improve on them for the next films. They shouldn't just scrap it all together.
Like is there anyway Marvel Studios can get a loophole and use Miles in Cap 3?
Sony is really stupid to not put Spidey in there movie and capitalize on it with a movie the following year. Just ask for a large sum of cash for the usage.
It makes no sense to recast Peter in this stage of The Amazing Spiderman franchise, and another reboot would be idiotic. What the **** is wrong with these people?
