Finally....
A i lied Love her vocals. Love the emotions but I'm not buying the story though.
A The crying game. This gives me 90s
A+ get on your knees. I LOVE this. Would have preferred Katy's voice. i get the black widow/dark horse mix
B+ feeling myself...Another 90s vibe. I'm not seeing the hype. the chorus is repetitive and the ugh part is silly. It's from some sample. This is not next level. DID she just RECYCLE a line from her prior song. the beat really gives me death row 90s vibe.
A want some more OOOOOOMMMMGGGG i love it. The lyricism is eh not innovative. Love her attitude. Didshe sample Nsync's GONE. THIS DAMN PERC she keep bringing up though
A+ Four Door THE DID IT ON EM on the album for me. I know I will just love this more and more. Why does parts sound like Azealia banks or something
B favorite. Not my favorite. This is just so meh. Another 90s vibe.
B+ buy a heart It's solid but not the top 5 for me.
B+ Trini Dem girls Bopping effortlessly. The production/vibe >>>> lyrics. AM I the only one that thinks it sounds like Missy Elliott (serves ching a ling).
B The night is still young Now I hated Masquerade but then 6 months later I loved it and still stan for it. that said, I get Va va voom and 2011 dance pop vibes...not feeling it...yet. Chorus giving me kesha and nicki on her not so good pop songs. This COULD HAVE BEEN ON PFRR.
A Grand Piano Awwwwwwww. She betta go awf. Self reflective and I believe her in this one.
B Big Daddy - Underwhelming
A Shanghai - AMAZING. I mean she copies Chi raq flow but I like it. The production>>>
A Win Again - It gives me 90s throwback. The only thing I don't like is the repetitious win again
B+ Truffle Butter - Another 90s throwback mixed with the motto. It's vibey but it's just I understand why it's not on the standard. Wayne KILLED IT.
So upon first listen:
A NICKI MINAJ CLassic. She might have a 4th album better than this but this will either be her #1 or #2 album of her career.
Hip hop classic. I don't hear that.
Important to Hip hop...um, I don't hear that. I feel as though she covered new topics...but for her...not for hip hop.
Production A
Lyricism B+/A=
Cohesiveness B+
I get ALOT of 90s vibes from it. Like a lot.
It's done well. I can't wait to hear this in full all the time.
I feel like there are 3-4 single worthy songs.
I can see 2 smash top 40s
3-4 smash urban hits.
I can see select singles nominated and possibbly grammy material.
I'm not sure I see the album as best rap album material.
OVERALL a leap from PF and PFRR.
B+...it'll either upgrade to A overtime or downgrade to B overtime.
The only album that downgraded for me was The Reup. The others upgraded so...
That said I'll just play the youtube clips and am not in a hurry that can hold me for now. STILL want that black and pink cover though
