"Doesn't excel in a particular field"
What does Katy excel in? Or Gaga? Or even Taylor?
One would excuse Gaga for being a good vocalist, but even so she isn't preeminent, why are y'all trying to make it seem like the current pop music scene is filled with Whitney Houston voices? Bye!
Yes. Y'all do overhype her. Y'all can always fall back on her chart stats and longevity to prove that she's "the biggest star of her generation" or "The queen of pop", but when others question her raw talents y'all can only say that she has a "unique" voice or the GP loves her personality. And do you really think that Rihanna plays a huge part in musical or creative direction? If so, why isn't the majority of the GP or music critics praising her for it? You do know that some stars will pay for creative titles and writing credits do it s like they take part in the creative process?
at you thinking GP gives a **** who wrote the song they like
Rihanna has credits on Rude Boy, a number one song that stayed on top of the charts for over 4 weeks, happy?
So what if she doesn't have credits on LOUD and GGGB?
Quote:
some ignorant people would think all she does is take whatever's handed to her but they can live, bathe and roll in the mud that is their ignorance. Rihanna has consistently been the executive producer in all her albums since 2010 and determines the musical and creative direction of her albums and eras but since y'all just assume since she doesn't write her album she doesn't do ****
To quote you here, tell me what s**t she actually did with all of these songs??
What did she actually do apart from show up and sing the songs??
She changed nothing. She even kept in Ester's vocals on S&M, couldn't she have sung that herself? At least Katy makes the effort to do all of her own background vocals.
The Navy didn't make her one of the biggest popstars in the world, the people did. No one is overhyping her, the hype is real and she really is one of the biggest popstars to do it. You can't really deny it. Rihanna will go down in history. You sound mad or something idk
Sis, isn't the Navy considered "the people" as well.

The last half of your post is pure speculation. When you can give me photo evidence of Rihanna sending Ester Dean a check to include her name on the credits of her songs then I will agree with you. But until then you just confirmed yourself as a joke.

Go down in history as what tho? A hit maker? A fashionista? What about as a great singer, performer or musician? You know, things that actually matter.

Point me to a source showing that the general public criticizes Rihanna for not writing her songs.
And excuse stans on pop forums for boasting of their fave's stats and record sales, yeah it's only the Navy members who do that.
The GP prove they like her music the 26 times songs by her have gone top ten, that I'm sure of, I'm pretty sure they didn't purchase/view/listen to her music and go"why doesn't Rihanna write her music? She's so not involved in her creative process, and isn't a great vocalist either"

clock a bit!!! all she did was show up and sing. and quite frankly anyone can do that

Well, Gaga can sing, dance, write, AND play an instrument. Taylor makes up for her lack of vocals through her writing and sheeet, at least Katy writes and play an instrument.
… You're laughing but its true. You can think Rih is the most untalented person to ever step on a stage but it won't change the facts. Fact is Rihanna has an impressive career and she will be talked about years for to come.
Like think whatever you want but to act like Rihanna isn't one of the biggest popstars ever is really ludicrous.
Not respected by the industry yet she's been praised by Celine Dion, Slash from Guns n Roses, Bon Jovi, Sting, Mariah Carey, Eminem, Alicia Keys, Cher, Madonna and basically everyone ...
