Just no

Well, the same will happen if you tried to turn EU into one country instead of union. Even now there are regions and countries who want to become more independent. Italians should try to unite their own country, because when Scotland had referendum, its regions which are increasingly dissatisfied with central Italian government like Veneto, Sicily or South Tyrol were eyeing that very closely.
Europe is just too diverse and each country including the smallest ones are too proud of their own identity, culture and independence which was blood-bought just yesterday, in no way we will abandon that for some stupid state that cant and wont work. Especially when it seems like even the European Union is very fragile and can easily fall apart. Stupid idea, not to mention that embarrassing name.
