She had nothing to do with the Jobs project and no one wanted her to work on it. She simply forbade Fincher to be part of it to secure her own vanity project which she didn't even know whether would even happen at all.

Darling, I have spent 7 years of my life studying ancient cultures and Im writing my dissertation about hellenistic period in Egypt. I wouldnt mind if Cleopatra was black or not, and if it was true, I would be the first to agree with you. As a scientist I have to respect the historical sources and forensic methods which keep proving you wrong tho.

The race of ancient Egyptians is uncertain, but they probably were semites or hamites as the ongoing research of DNA from many mummies indicate. The DNA of ancient Egyptians is very similar to todays Egyptians, who are mostly semites (caucasian), so their descendants still live in Egypt.

The most widely accepted theory today is that ancient population of Lower Egypt (north Egypt) was most probably caucasian (semitic), while the ancient population of Upper Egypt (south Egypt) could have been partly negroid. Nubian people living in Upper (south) Egypt were depicted as having darker skin color, but skin color is not a good indicator, because also semitic and hamitic people have skin tone varying from very light to very dark (descendants of Nubians live in southern Egypt and Sudan, and majority of both populations are caucasian with darker skin tone). The DNA analysis show that ancient Egyptians had also genes typical for the whole African Horn including Ethiopia and Somalia. Most modern Ethiopians and Somalis are black, but even these people bear old caucasian genes/haplotypes, and form a very unique group of negroid people with some distinctive caucasoid features (btw, negroid is an antropologic term for black people, not an insult).

But Cleopatra VII., just like the whole Ptolemaic dynasty, was certainly of Macedonian Greek origin. The Ptolemais were Greeks and practiced incestuous dynastic marriages for centuries. No Ptolemaic king had an Egyptian woman as his first wife and mother of his successors. Identity of Cleopatras mother is uncertain, but most probably it was Cleopatra Tryphaena, a Greek/Ptolemaic noble woman and first wife of her father. The possibility of it being an Egyptian woman is small (but considering that Cleopatra was the first Ptolemaic ruler who knew how to speak ancient Egyptian language, among 8 other languages she was fluent in give us some doubt). And even if the theory that Cleopatras mother was Egyptian was true, it still doesnt make her black, but semitic. These are the facts and I have to respect them, even when it crushes many romantic ideas.

Sony was hacked and email exchanges between the Steve Jobs movie producer Scott Rudin and Sony co-chairman Amy Pascal were published.

The e-mails go back to February 2014 and document the nightmare journey to make Jobs happen. In the earlier emails, Amy and Scott fight about David Fincher directing Jobs.

Scott, who is producing Jobs, wanted David Fincher for the movie, but St. Angie Jolie was making it hard for him. St. Angie didn’t want Fincher to do Jobs, because she wanted him to direct her in Cleopatra, which Scott Rudin is also producing (but probably not anymore). Scott wanted Amy to tell St. Angie that she can’t have Fincher. In an e-mail to Amy on February 27th, Scott goes full-on with the Angie bashing and it starts with a Kanye-approved ALL-CAPS demand:


Amy tells Scott that if Fincher does do Jobs, St. Angie will make it “uncomfortable” for him. Scott fires back with these beautiful fighting words:
