I'm so sorry, there might be a delay in update because of me. There were some signal issues all over my island since the weekend. Some monkeys must have ate a cable or something. I am on it now and will send my rates as soon as I finish.

Hey everyone.

So, as you guys know, I had dedicated Your Heart Is a Muscle to my current relationship with my boyfriend Scott. Well today, I told him about this little writeup and showed him the song on Youtube. I actually got him into the song, but that's not the whole story.

Since we were in the mood to listen to music, and since it had been a month since we started dating and I had decided to continue, he decided to dedicate a song to me. Broken by Seether f. Amy Lee. According to him, he was a broken person until he met me. I wanted to know the background behind his dedication, so I asked what made him so broken.

He told me about his troubled past (which in respect of him I won't delve into on here). However, what he told me left a gap between 8th grade and when he met me during his first semester at college. So the conversation started going deeper, about how those years up to 8th grade haunted him, up into this semester, in which he actually is failing one of his classes that he will have to retake and got C's in his other two. So, being the natural psychologist I apparently am , I tried making connections between that and between his childhood. Along the way, he brought up how at 15, his parents completely dismissed the fact that he was bisexual. I told him that he needed to understand what his parents were thinking at the time because not every 14 or 15 year old understands their sexuality - myself included. So I got a sense that that continued the broken spirit he was referring to via the song.

He also had a girlfriend in high school. When referring to the year following the breakup and before he met me, he said he felt dead inside and that when he met me he said he should move on and I feel happier with guys...something along those lines...which led me to say "The way you word things makes you not sound bisexual"

He then said he wasn't sure what his sexuality was anymore. So I asked him questions relating towards men and women. He told me that he didn't feel any internal connection to his girlfriend in high school, because he was playing the "straight" card. So he basically said she was a beard. I then asked him if felt any sexual attraction to any other men or women. He said he was sexually attracted to one guy in high school, but no women, not even his girlfriend. I also asked him if he was emotionally attached (felt affection) towards other men or women, and he had only felt affection towards the guy he was sexually attracted to in high school, but no affection towards his girlfriend. He said he MIGHT have near then end, but then she cheated on him. In other words, he basically said he was never attracted to any girls in his lifetime, just one guy and then myself.

So upon our deep conversation, he realized he was actually gay. Which meant that he had told his parents, his friends and myself a lie for so long by saying he was bisexual. As scary as it is, he also thanked me for that because regardless of what happens between us, he said he'll always be thankful for realizing who he really was and changing his life around for the better. Hence why he said that he felt broken until he met me, hence why he dedicated the song to me.

This honestly wouldn't have happened if I hadn't used YHIAM in Round 2, because I wouldn't have felt the want to show him the song, which as a result set the mood for him to dedicate a song to me. Which then in turn set the stone for the deep conversation we had in understanding the background behind me, which in turn led to him realizing who he really was.

So in a way, my participation in this game this season kind of led to this happening. So now YHIAM has a new background story to it thanks to what happened today.
