i know you like royce, but those things don't mean you have crossover appeal
romeo's album sold 90k and he can sell out yankee stadium because of his fanbase. that doesn't mean other americans will buy it and go to see him. the point of crossing over is getting mainstream attention, not have a niche audience.
promise got pop spins thanks to usher and romeo's fanbase... that doesn't mean there's crossover appeal. priyanka chopra made it Top 50 on pop radio with her debut single. does that mean she has cross over appeal?
you don't need to the biggest act in your market to cross over. jay sean was an indie urban artist in the UK and he was able to cross over and so many big british acts like robbie williams and cheryl never could.
