Poll: "What's in your head, it doesn't matter" meaning?

Ever since 'BEYONCE' dropped and I heard 'Pretty Ha urrrurrts' this lyric has confused me and I wanted to know how everyone else interprets it.

"What's in your head, it doesn't matter" - your intelligence doesn't matter. All that matters is your appearance. "Brush your hair, fix your teeth, what you wear is all that matters" - women have been conditioned to only care about their appearances and not worry about their intellect.

"What's in your head, it doesn't matter" - your insecurities don't matter. "Brush your hair, fix your teeth, what you wear is all that matters" - your hair, cleaning your teeth and choosing your clothes are the only variables in your appearance that you have direct control over (without going to drastic measures) so just worry about them and get on with your life.

What is Mama Knowles saying to Bey through Sia? Is she being nurturing and saying "your insecurities don't matter" or is she being a bitch and saying "your brain doesn't matter, all that matters are your looks."

I imagine it as nothing more than a hypothetical scenario.

The mother in the song is saying that her intelligence (or lack of) doesn't matter as long as she looks pretty. But of course Tina would never say that in real life though.

But the song is written by Sia though and I always took the song as just a general or universal meaning than anything specific to Bey.

Also, I've been hearing it all this time as: "What's in your head / It's all that matters." But I looked up the lyrics and I guess I've been wrong.

If I had to interpret it though, I'd say it's a pretty girl being told that all she needs is to sit there and focus on being pretty and that intelligence doesn't matter.

If it's the second one, then the first and second lines contradict each other. The first option makes sense to me, that's what I always thought it was.. poor Tina was done wrong.

I don't know but it's totally something Beyoncé would say to Blue Ivy ! She seems very image conscience all the time (photoshopping selfies and trying to remove those Super Bowl pictures from the web, etc.) !
