I'm not sure how to explain this right but in 2004-2006 when they started this whole thing together they had the same ideas in mind and they seemed to agree on most things.
Now, it seems like Taylor wants to do her own thing but she's limited by a record label who doesn't necessarily share her opinions. She fights to release what she wants. It's a good thing her label trusts her.

There were just people at her label who were cautious about Taylor releasing a completely pop record with nothing to offer Country Radio. A lot of chart analysts thought it could jeopardise her album sales. Country Artists have tried to go with a pop album before and failed. Garth Brooks famously failed when he tried it. It is understandable that some at BMR were worried about LP5 and how it would be received. The change in musical direction was a big risk.
You hear lots of terrible stories about artists who have serious disputes with their record labels. Kesha, Leona Lewis, Prince, JoJo. Taylor is in nothing like that situation. If she does leave BMR ever, I expect her to join Charlie Walk at Republic.
