Target and Kmart Australia has pulled R-rated video game Grand Theft Auto V from its shelves and says it will no longer sell it following feedback from customers about the game's depictions of violence against women.
The decision to pull the game — which sparked an immediate backlash from gamers — appeared to be in response to a Change.org petition launched on Saturday by three women who said they were survivors of violence.
LOL are they serious? That's pissing away money. And for what?
Although this is kind of good news because more money will go to Gamespot (and EB games by association), I would rather see money go directly to a specific video game outlet than a big box retailer. It's healthier for the industry.
It's a pity that so many feminists are uninformed rabid creatures like the ones behind this petition. Not only can you complete the entire GTA V campaign without ever harming a woman, but they're basically saying that it's okay to kill and torture men but not women. That's not what feminism is about
It also depicts violence against men so I hope this isn't pressed tumblr feminists. Probably soccer moms though. Let me go run over some of them in my game.

Where have you been? Modern day feminism is all about men hating
...not to mention that pulling ONE violent game from the shelves will literally do nothing in the big picture. This whole situation is so stupid. They're just cannibalizing their own profits.

I wouldn't say that, I just think too many people buy into the "monkey see/monkey do" assessments of these things. No room for interpretation, individual experience, or...good ol fashion, non-serious FUN.
