Any time a public figure does anything for public consumption it's for the sake of attention. Period. Madonna is a provoker, edge walker, button pusher -- always has been and has never given a fifth of a **** about what people thought of it. Nothing has changed but her age, but now that she's older and doing the same thing she always has done, the rhetoric surrounding has changed from "trailblazing and fearless" to "desperate and attention-seeking" -- I don't think these old school feminists really step back and think about how the ideas they uphold about how women should behave in order to be respected and taken seriously reinforce things that work against women the hardest like ageism and "****" shaming.
