Yeah, it's strange. Apparently you have to live in the time period you're inspired by in order to be authentic? It's almost like some are implying you can control when you're born and as if Madonna hasn't pulled from people she didn't know or things she hasn't experienced firsthand.

Madonna is only talking about her friends and memories from time when she was hanging out with them. She is not trying to convince people how artistic and intelligent she is, quite the oposite, she is very humble about it.

I absolutely love it when she talks about her early days. Really enjoyed reading this. This is what I'd really like her to focus on. I really want her to write an autobiography one day.

I agree with her opinion that art should be accessible to people. In her case, she did a great job at creating sounds that fit the tastes of a large portion of the population while still finding a way to make sure her work was meaningful and unique.
