It didn't take off because she did zero promotion on it, for obvious reasons.
She has now shot the music video, will likely perform it on the Grammys, and the label is likely going to be pushing it at radio.
The song will do just fine. Spotlight started off slow, but that Hit #1 on 2 Charts.
And her CD went gold off of just one single, so that's definitely a portent of good things to come.
