He doesn't sound like public enemy. If you want a rapper/r&b singer then go listen to Drake. Are acclaimed rappers like Rakim, Big L, KRS One, Big Daddy Kane, Mos Def, Black Thought, RZA, etc known for delving into R&B? You just want Em to do it so y'all can drag him for biting another aspect of our "black culture"?

This.
What J.Cole said doesn't compare to some of the things Eminem has said about other artists in his songs.
At the end of the day he has a point, standards of the quality of urban music has been dropped or lowered when white artists do it, Eminem is among the exceptions but otherwise a lot of white artists are getting away and being commended for material black artists would have been dragged to the pits of hell and back for if they released the same thing.

If Iggy wins a Grammy, that'll be a sad day for hip hop. I want to see a deserving rapper who's work hard on their craft for years to win it.

How so? It had no affect on the hip hop community.

Iggy's biggest problem is that many fans of Hip-Hop see her as someone who is mocking the culture. Sorta like how many felt about Miley and the twerking shenanigans.

I was talking about this particular song. It has nothing to do with Em's lyrics but keep trying.

Mhm. And where are they now? Why hasn't mainstream media been here for them in the last 2 decades when they make similar angry boring music?

He's completely right, but it's not those artists' fault that they are popular. Hopefully he didn't mean it as an attack, but more as social criticism.

This.
If Iggy was rapping in her real accent and rapping about things that weren't lies there would be no problem, but her stans don't get it.

White people in here not getting it
Nobody's saying white people can't do rap or R&B and they can't be good at it. Its just as soon as a white artist goes into the category that was previously mostly black, it erases all the black artists achievements. A white artist will soon become King of Rap and R&B even though there were many better black artists before them, same as Elvis. Its no surprise that Macklemore and Iggy sell so much more than 90% of black artists in the same category, who are better than them. You're telling me that's just a coincidence?

But were any of them ever aiming for mainstream success in the first place or were they simply doing what they love?
Also... Wasn't Cole just on the TKO remix last year?

Iggy has stated numerous times that she doesn't want to be defined solely by one genre and could care less if the community respects her
Nicki Minaj stans just don't get it.

I agree. The title is mis-leading imo, he's shading the general public and people in the music industry, rather than the artists.

This!
ATRL is a great example of this. They call Iggy the Queen of Rap, by discrediting not only Nicki, but also Kim, Missy, Lauryn and more.

We're on a forum where probably more than half of the users stan for numbers. I don't expect them to get it. They saw a few Top 10 records and thinks she's the greatest thing to come to Hip-Hop. I'm not opposed to Iggy her content is lackluster and her trying to portraying something that she's not is annoying.
