Discussion: Why is "top" not used as an insult but "bottom" is?

Us bottoms need to take control and stop letting tops think we are passive bitches. Like the good sis, Steve Harvey said in Think Like A Man. "When a man approaches you you're the one with total control over the situation-whether he can talk to you, buy you a drink, dance with you, get your number, take you home, see you again, all of that. We certainly want these things from you; that's why we talked to you in the first place. But it's you who decides if you're going to give us any of the things we want, and how, exactly, we're going to get them.". You can be a bottom and be dominant. You can be bottom and still be an "alpha-male". Bottoms are in control. Bottomist.

Passive vs. Dominate, even though I kind of disagree with the idea that bottoms are passive. Bottoms have a lot of power over me

Because the LGBT community is still somewhat misogynistic. They equate bottoming with the idea that femininity & passiveness is a sign of weakness, just as they do with transgendered people - they do not understand why someone born with male jewels would feel the need to be feminine and they do not understand how people born with female bits (the "weaker" gender) could ever live up to the "strength" of males.
The idea that not being assertive and domineering means weakness is one tied to the inequalities feminism is meant to fight. It takes STRENGTH to be vulnerable, to give someone the power to hurt you. Why we continue to perpetuate this idea of being submissive as weakness is just BEYOND.

People on this site can't come up with original jokes, so I'd guess that somebody made one good bottom joke and we've been trying to relive its glory for years now.

Strength and power isn't a masculine/feminine thing, though. Both traits should be obligatory for everyone, gay/straight/man/woman/etc.

"We teach bottoms to shrink themselves, to make themselves smaller. We say to bottoms, ‘You can have femininity, but not too much. You should aim to be MASC4MASC, but not too MASC otherwise you would threaten the top.’ Because I am a bottom, I’m expected to aspire to always keep the bussy clean. I’m expected to make my life choices always keeping in mind that keeping the bussy clean is the most important. Well eating chipotle can be a good thing— It can be a source of joy and love and mutual support. But why do we teach bottoms to avoid chipotle when we don’t teach tops the same? We raise bottoms to see each other as competitors, not for jobs or for accomplishments— which I think can be a good thing— but for the attention of tops. We teach bottoms that they cannot be sexual beings in the way that tops are. BOTTOMinist: a person who believes in the social, political, and economic equality of the bottom."

That's not the point though. It's the way society views these traits that's the problem. They keep assigning strength to males and submission (that they perceive as weakness) to females.
I'm not interested in discussing this further with you specifically, as you're well-known for perpetuating prejudice. I don't see the point in trying to educate people who insist on keeping their minds closed.
