Yes it's discriminatory but that doesn't mean it's a bad thing. Having discriminating tastes signifies that you won't just sleep with anything. Your tastes are also probably discriminatory against the elderly, bald, fat, etc. It's just a natural response.

That being said, I'd probably say "No, thanks!" to most people with HIV unless they wanted to do something that doesn't swap body fluids and put us at risk. I think a person with HIV would understand exactly why I'd want to be so careful around the virus.

also not wanting to even non sexually touch someone with HIV is stupid. it doesn't spread /that/ easily. i wouldn't do anything sexual with them or be in a romantic relationship with them and i think that'd pretty much be the end of any problems. well, unless they bleed on me, in which case...i guess i'm on my own there

I have basically OCD when it comes to this disease. ive gone through my phases of being scared that ive caught it and that my life is over, even when protection is used. Even when a guy says he is negative, i still believe that he is lying and that I'm going to get the disease somehow

its not discriminatory, but just because someone is HIV positive doesnt mean that you can easily get it, depending on their viral load count and the medication they are on, it could be extremely low risk for them to transmit the disease to you. the disease really has come a long way

They deserve sympathy, but I would say no to a positive person, sorry. It is horrible, and for my own's health I would like to avoid it and always use protection

Obviously not you can choose not to sleep with someone for any reason you want, and I'd say risk of HIV infection is a fairly good reason

Take Prep and calm down. There is almost no chance you can get it from someone who knows they have HIV if they are taking their meds and you guys are using protection. Also seek the help of a professional so you can educate yourself. The worst thing you can do is be panicky about it. It doesn't help you to think rationally. The latest studies show that the new cases are the result of people passing it on to others before they new they had HIV at all. The fear of rejection is what keeps people with HIV from getting tested and treated.

if you were intending to engage solely in sexual activity with them, then no, it's not worth the risk, but it's stupid to rule out a romantic relationship entirely with them just because of it, i suppose.
