If "using your opportunities" amounts to getting a job over a model who worked hard and is more deserving, then I'm not okay with it, That's in the real world too. Everyone wants to make excuses until they are the one who gets screwed over.
Exactly. I find it ridiculous that people make a bigger deal out of the nepotism related to Kendall Jenner's success, than the nepotism received by an illegitimate United States' President, whose father was also a United States President. An illegitimate Presidency that resulted in:
the biggest terrorist attack in United States history, killing 3000 people
two of the world's most expensive wars, that were left unpaid for
no response to people who needed help in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, resulting in multiple deaths that could have been avoided
all culminating in the greatest economic crisis since The Great Depression, because the financial sector was going unregulated, and subprime mortgages and cheap credit were being allowed, causing mass unemployment and poverty
But by all means, freak out over the fact that a 19 year old girl might be stealing some other 19 year old girl's place on a runway during New York Fashion Week twice a year, because of who her family is.

How is it nepotism, when people voted for him to be the president? He wasn't chosen by a family friend. Way to go off topic though.

How is it nepotism that the son of a former President was put forward for Presidential candidacy? Because that's what nepotism is
Quote:
Nepotism is favoritism granted in politics or business to relatives.
He wouldn't have even been known if he wasn't George Bush Sr's son, let alone become a Presidential candidate.
Secondly, people didn't vote for him (or the majority of people didn't, at least) which is why I kept referring to it as "an illegitimate presidency."
And I didn't go off-topic. It was a comparative analysis of nepotism. One that actually mattered and affected the world and one that's about a teenage girl walking 20 metres, turning around and then walking back the other way.

There's no such thing as being "put forward" in the US, you have to win the party's nomination by votes as well. He won the governorship before that, also by votes.
Kendall forever have her life given to her on a silver platter.
She'd never even get a double-take by anyone in the industry if she started from the bottom like the average model. Sure, she has the face and the body for it but she has no charisma and she's like a lifeless doll waiting to be resurrected and finally put into use.
But, you gotta accept the fact that there will always be someone that has it better than you. Working hard is a better incentive because the results are much sweeter in the long run.
I mean she deserves a few good draggings, but in the end it just comes from a place of envy? Like if you were in Kendall's shoes and you wanted to model and had all the right connections, you would - right? Like that's just life, and there's no point getting pressed about it.

He wouldn't have been "put forward" to the party had his father not been a previous President. He probably wouldn't have even gotten into Yale if his father hadn't also gone to Yale. He wasn't the Governor of Texas (1995-2000) until after his father had already served as the President of the country (1989-1993). That is nepotism. Getting him through the ranks. Winning the parties nomination (hell, even simply being put forward for candidacy) is where power, persuasion and nepotism come in to play. You don't honestly think it's a coincidence that two Presidents happen to be father and son do you? It's nepotism.
The fact that Hilary Clinton will probably be President in 2016 is also nepotism. The only difference is, she actually earned her law degree instead of paying other students to do it while putting kilograms of cocaine up her nose. She's not just some moronic figurehead being marketed as an all-American maverick who when combined with right-wing media figures like Bill O'Reilly has inspired political satire characters like Stephen Colbert.
It's the truth. It's sad that people who have busted their ass and then this newbie with no experience and a very basic look comes in and is booking all these gigs. It's a slap in the face to the real models. But meh it is what it is now I guess.
I feel bad for her, i mean she probably would of wanted to be a model even if she wasn't famous.. it was just convenient and lucky for her that she comes from a famous family, that's not her fault Is she just supposed to pack up her bags and leave for some other model because they have had a harder time working their way to the top?
I mean i can sympathize with these other models but you cant entirely blame her, as much as i dislike that whole family.
You do all realize that many models are of high society children. We hear the "breakout" stories of the models who had nothing to everything VERY RARELY. Kendall has done nothing wrong. She is probably the MOST profitable model out there at this moment even solely based on Instagram and Twitter followers. Not to mention she was the most searched "model" this year. People can hate all they want, but she stays winning.
I don't know much about modeling but I do think Kendall is really really attractive.
And it's not really lying to say that she has huge help with her modeling career from her family's fame......she didn't have to struggle and work quite as hard as a lot of other models.

Envy ain't cute.

should we include designers that share this same situation?
basically.
ppl wanna drag Kendall cause she is an easy target but she is not the only one whos had opportunities and taken them because of connections.
Sometimes it sucks yes but theres no point in whining, because thats just how it is and its not gonna get you anywhere
not always but normally our families try to help us succeed in life however they can and with what they have and some families just have more tools to do that
This make me so mad tbh. Yes Kendall didn't have to fight for her position in the modeling industry and she comes from money... so what? This bitter ass bitch needs to be gone. She resembles a baboon and should've even be allowed to open her mouth about Kendall. Kendall may be privileged, but she's still a fabulous model.. I just don't see the problem.
