Yes, it was live, but she was using a backing track to help her, like many singers do 
You can tell by the chorus and especially the bridge.
The fact you think most singers sing live without any assistant is cute.

Of course it is. Singers nowadays hire a writing team/camp with like 20 people to write a song. Queen Nelly only needs 1-2 max besides her to write songs. I think she wrote every single song on her debut album by herself. Taylor who???
These singers nowadays can't sing nor write.
And that just shows how versatile her songs are. From a heart breaking song like Try to a playful song like Promiscous.
