The school I was at with our French exchange program offered pretty gross food in their cafeteria actually. That said, it's great how the French endeavour for their children to eat and live healthily.
School cafeteria in France appear healthy next to the typical US ones. But most of the people I know, including myself, have some bad memories of the hygiene and the quality of the food there. Plus, there was still a lot of questionable stuff that were being served to us every day.
So, we eventually decided to eat out at lunch time, mostly sandwiches, which tasted good but weren't "good" for our organism. A never ending cycle!
it's just a different food culture, i cannot live without eating veggies or fruit daily, especially cooked veggies, and it's because my parents fed me veggies super tasty growing up. i cannot live without olive oil either. and i hate deep fried food because i never ate them growing up.
Europeans like the taste of food while north americans like the taste of salt/sauces/oil
I'm sorry guys but us French ppl we do it better. I have so muc family in France and they are nearly all thin (thin healthy) and the guys are literally ALL fit in my family. however my family in Canada are mostly a it overweight. north american culture is all about food. My family in Morocco is thin /athletic too because they follow the Moroccan/French way of eating too and have gym class every single day for an hour. schools need to take note tbh
