I was just thinking about this, because I have so many awk moments at work. The guys I work with are always thirsting over every single "hot" female customer that walks by, & everytime they call me over to check out their ass & I have to fake excitement. Literally 95% of the conversations are about how to get into chick's pants, and I just have to nod & pretend i love the V. Just yesterday, this super hot guy i work with goes like "so you an ass or **** guy". I judge how thirsty & explicit they are, but then I remember that im the same but for guys.
so any of you closeted guys share this problem? share your stories. or for you openly gay guys, ever run into a homophobe? How did it play out?
Same happens to me at college. There's basically no girls and we have class in the same room all day. I can only let you imagine the topics their conversation revolve around (they were even watching **** — apparently weird — today on the uni computers) when there's no teacher in there (and we have a large window with all the 1st year bio girls passing by).
But when they ask me why I don't take part of their conversation, I really just don't answer. They can guess, but they won't have any confirmation. I won't come out to these homophobes nor fake to be straight.
My co-workers: "Dam, she's so hot." "Look at that tight ******" "I wanna date her" "The things I'd do to her in my bed"
And I'm like:
ALL the time! And in the store I work at, we can put our iPods. I always have some Coldplay, My Chemical Romance, Maroon 5, and other "manly music". I need to promote my fave and the only way I can do that is throwing some stuff like that in my iPod, so when Perfume, Ooh La La, and Work Bitch comes on, no one suspects anything.
They could probably guess you're not straight because when a guy's not like you described in your OP, he's either homosexual or very shy/quiet
There's always exceptions. I'm straight and I'm pretty much turned on by facial features only and almost every girl I've ever liked is skinny as hell. 90% of what most dudes consider to be a bad chick I be like eh. I have the highest standards ever tho which is why I'm single as hell now.
Youre co workers know youre gay and they probably talk about it when you are not around. They prolly laugh at you faking excitement over women.

I think a lot of straight guys don't feel so awkward around me because I don't start yelling at them if they use 'gay' inappropriately and I can joke around etc. I think that's one thing that turns a lot of straight guys off from having gay friends - not that they think they will be sexually targeted by gay guys, but that they can't be themselves around a gay guy. It's funny because that's exactly what gay guys think when around straight guys and it ends up being awkward for everyone.
But anyway, no I don't act "straight" - I just continue being my lil ol' self and if someone can't take then I didn't need them in the first place.

same here. Like they will be talking about the cute girls at the store, and they'll be like "what do you think of ____". And i'm like "who?" But I pretty much know all the info on any and all cute guys.

Having just graduated high school, I've spent the last five years attempting to blend when around a group of straight guys. Not that I'm not proud of who I am (I'm not out yet but I can tell everybody knows) and not that I was bothered what they would think (because majority wouldn't care), but simply because sometimes it gets tiresome being the "different" one and every now and then you want nothing else than to just be a normal guy, treated exactly like all the others.
