You can drink a lot of soda a day and not gain weight. Regular soda is like 140 calories a can. If you go over 2000 calories a day eating ANYTHING (even vegetables) you will gain weight. So I would have to say you are gaining weight from other sources included. Also remember that for every 3,600 calories above 2,000 per day you gain a pound.
