When you register, at some point ATRL asks you if a member referred you to the site. So for example, Remmy has 7 referrals. That means that 7 members told ATRL (or whatever) that Remmy referred them to the site.
That usually works as impressions of the site. More referrals means that members like the site and want to share it with their friends.
You don't use the notepad?! Go to my atrl and it's in the bottom left corner. I can't live without it tbh. You can just keep anything in there, and only you can see it.

It's basically like a little storage for yourself. Yeah, you can do reminders, but you can also do stuff like store avatars and gifs in there, plan a future thread that you don't want to post yet, keep an update to your countdown/a game that you don't want to post yet, etc. It's relatively helpful but only to some.
