Discussion: Why didn't Artrave do as well as the MB or the BTWB?

I began going down memory lane today and watched some videos of The Monster Ball and The Born This Way Ball, and afterwards I saw how they did and was quite impressed. The Monster Ball made ~$124 million, and the BTW Ball, even when cut short, made ~$180 million.

I saw that Artrave is set to end/has ended today, and was shocked to see that it, on the other hand, is set to finish likely somewhere between $80 million and $90 million!

Why didn't the tour do as well as her previous two? I'm especially confused because the attendance seems to be quite high! Were the tickets sold for very little or something?

i think the ticket prices were down, and a lot of venues didn't gross a lot, i think portugal only grossed 330k. its still not bad though, an average of 1mil per show.

Bad promotion, unsuccessful album, and they didn't count the VIP tickets, merch and everything for the gross (like Katy does, which is why she grosses 1,5 times more with lower prices).

ticket prices were more expensive for this tour in the UK, my GA ticket for birmingham was around £80, I swear btw ball was around £50. she played some higher capacity venues for btw ball, the btw ball had an attendance of around 1.7 million where as artrave has had around a million.

Lol. You're obviously trolling and didn't do your research.
Despite the fact that this was her least successful album and that tickets were as low as $35, this tour had like 79 dates when the BTWB had over 100 dates and The Monster Ball (which, for your information, grossed $223M) had like 200 dates. She was averaging $1.1M per show which means with more dates she would've crossed the $100M mark. It's not that hard.
