Musically wise, Bruno is bigger, he's sold more albums, he's sold as much singles as Katy with less songs released, he's doing great with his first worldwide tour, while Katy didn't do great, she did poorly with the California Dreams tour, I mean $60 million  . Bruno is also quite big on social media, he just isn't a Pop girl, so that's why you won't find anyone talking bout him here.
Bruno has also won two Grammys and he performed first on the Super Bowl, which is the most watched Halftime Show ever.

She might more popular in the media but what is the point when she can't sell records more than Bruno who has totally avoided any media contact and shares nothing with them.

Katy's sold more albums, more singles, has higher streams, more radio play, etc.
Bruno has a stronger average so he may pass her with his third era, though, but for right now the answer is Katy.

Bruno, he's sold more per album, already has 2 multi-platinum albums.
JTWYA and Grenade have sold more WW than any Katy single
He makes more money annually
TD sold less than DW&H and Prism will sell no where clost to UJ's 6.2M

It's quite ridiculous and absurd to claim Bruno is more successful.

Bruno is global, he isn't local to the Anglosphere (English-speaking countries) like Katy, which is why his worldwide sales are so high
For example, E.T. sold like 5M in the US, yet was unable to make the top 10 best-selling singles WW of 2011 (IFPI) because it was extremely local to the Anglosphere and no other countries bought it. And the same goes with many Katy songs (and albums), while Bruno is very global
