I love the new games so far but yeah they need to do something new soon... I'm excited for that Digimon game tho

Digimon did have Pokemon-esque games and they did pretty poorly.

And what they do does sell. The last few PSP games sold really well in Japan, and the first PSP game sold so well they made a port for the 3DS.

The reason why we are getting great games is because of how well the games are selling now. They are able to have bigger-budgeted games due to the success over there.
And now Namco are testing the waters over here (even though they are using a trash game to test with) to see if it's worth rebooting the franchise.

Anyway, have you seen Cyber Sleuth or the PSP games? Why should Namco step down the quality so it matches Pokemon?

Trust me, Digimon is a great competitor quality wise. They just don't know how to market their franchise (especially internationally). Pokemon's lucky that the Anime was so huge in it's heyday, because it's not doing well now, but the games are able to survive based on the impact it had.

I do wish Pokemon would do an Anime like Pokemon Movie 2 That was such an amazing movie and they never really returned to that style.

Graphic wise, 6th gen was a HUGE step up I still get amazed by how pretty the battles look, whether I'm playing with 3D on or not. The attack animations are beautiful and the 3D models look stunning. What is making me extremely mad is the huge lack of features on ORAS and the half assed hurried game it is becoming.

I'm fine with Pokemon staying true to their gameplay style, and each generation so far has had its share of improvements. Aside from new Pokemon and a new region, the gameplay is for the most part predictable, but they're still very well-received. And I still enjoy playing. They have to be very careful, because if they change the formula too much they could lose old fans and lose the identity of the series. The nostalgia is still very much there now because the formula has stayed so similar to the original. The main series of games are handheld, and that's a bit limiting in itself. So while I definitely appreciate when Pokemon steps out and releases console games, they have to be careful with that because if they make a game that outshines the handheld series on its own it could be a problem. Most of the Pokemon console games are built around and to communicate with the handheld games for this reason, so that they stay the primary way to play Pokemon.

If it isn't broke, don't fix it.

I'm thoroughly surprised there hasn't been a new Pokemon Snap for the Wii U though. The console seems perfect for that style of game, and it was always a cult favorite in the Pokemon series.

I would love a Pokemon Stadium 3 and a true Wii U classic game. But they really can't change up the formula too much. At least in my opinion, the new task of the shadow Pokemon made Colosseum & XD made those games boring. They can tweak some things, but it really needs to start with a young trainer, 8 badges, elite four, and an evil team coming for World domination.
