Has anyone ever been charged with attempted suicide? and it's pretty pointless for it to be illegal nobody who reached the point of wanting to commit suicide is going to change their minds because it's illegal~

How exactly would you prosecute a person who's committed suicide?

If the person does die, are you gonna charge a dead body? And if they don't die, then they should be put through therapy because they are obviously depressed and prison isn't going to help.

Not necessarily illegal.. because if a person attempted suicide, failed and you threw them in jail... how exactly would that help anything?

If anything, force them into some type of therapeutic program to figure out why they attempted suicide. Is it mental instability? Depression from life problems? Etc. Give them resources that will help them... Don't shame them and persecute them, making it worse...

This may come off so insensitive but I can't help but think of DWUW when people on here write "people can do what they want with their body".

OT: It should not be illegal. People should get proper help if they fail but not some kind of prison sentence wtf. Of course if you knowingly endanger other persons with your attempt, that's obviously a big cry for attention but neither should be punished just for the simple fact that as soon as they get out, they will try again. But then again, drug dealers don't stop dealing after they served a certain time in jail.
