shawty, I don’t mind If you dance on a pole
that don’t make you a ho
This is an excerpt from the new single by Usher ft. Juicy J 'I Don't Mind'. It's essentially a pep-talk for his girlfriend who works as a stripper, and telling her he's proud of her profession and doesn't care.
Now, i was just pondering {at 3am}...does the term stripper, to you, a dressed up version of the term hoe?. I just find it crazy how we, as a society, stigmatise the term to the point it recieves a similar judgement as a prostitute who ACTUALLY sells their body for sex.
While the job description may be too liberal for many, it still provides a pay-cheque at the end of the day and tips/extras. It is a physically-demanding job and one that requires the person (female/male) to be in a great condition. Of course, not every person who works as a stripper does it because they WANT to - it could be because they must, in order to pay for College/Bills etc. etc.
Really, i'm just wondering what you think of it? If you automatically make the connection between the term "stripper" and "hoe"; if yes why? if no why?

Stripper =/= Hoe. A stripper is an employed woman making dem $$$ign$$$ legally and there is nothing morally wrong with that. In fact it says more about the crowd then the stripper.
They both make money showing skin and being provocative, yes.
I mean technically our faves make money while showing skin and being provocative on stage but they're neither hoes nor strippers. Before you say performing takes talent I'd like to see you ride a damn pole.

Which is my thoughts entirely. However the way society stigmatise the role...its like society tells you that to be an acceptable member of the collective, you need a job yet their are guidelines on what is acceptable as a job and not. Factor in the relative disregard and poor media representations of those associated with that role, it doesn't surprise me why some still feel uneasy letting friends/relatives aware of their profession.
Well, a lot of strippers also give handjobs, blowjobs and sometimes even have sex behind those curtains / in them back rooms if you pay them so yes, I would say most strippers are also hoes.

Not really, they are not allowed to do that otherwise it would be considered prostitution.
The only thing they probably do in the champagne room is tease the costumer.
