Heteronormative influences on the gay community are strong. Personally, I find most men ca-yute which is a problem since most men are straight and this means I end up falling for someone who can never reciprocate my feelings. Yesterday, I heard a straight guy asking a gay guy if he would rather be the mom or the dad in his relationship, and the gay guy happily said "mom!!" To each his own, if that's how he wants to be labelled, cool. But I'm a man, therefore I would like to be a dad just like every other father There's nothing wrong with having two dads, not everything needs to fit into the stereotypical, heterosexual box.

The idea that "straight men are REAL men" is absurd though. There are plenty of masculine gay men who can deliver the same qualities that a straight man can. I must admit, they're lowkey hard to find (at least in my area) but they're there. Some of it is also the fact that people love what they can't have.
