I don't know. It's not really that I wish her pop rock sound would come back, but her pre-OOTB and OOTB ballads sounded so "her." Nowadays a lot of her music is still "her," but also "someone else." She's obviously influenced by her desire to make the tracks radio-ready and by working with big producers. I mean. the proof is in the pudding. ToY, Lost, I'm Still Breathing, Brick By Brick... All belong in the upper tier of her discography. And the flawless Playing House. One of my favorite Katy tracks ever.

I'm going to just say outright that I feel that her previous material was more genuine and generally higher quality, at least lyrically and thematically (Save PRISM deluxe tracks).

When TOTGA is acoustic I feel like its that way too. It's definitely the most genuine ballad on TD, even more than NLTM in my opinion

Every artist goes back to their debut era sound later in their careers so im not worried
