Britney & Mariah both had long, respected careers that ended respectfully.

Gaga's career had a decline and ended after 2 albums. That is bad. I mean she's not over, but her jazz album is selling damn near better. She had a huge fall.

Bionic has been used synonymously to refer to a big flop.

Glitter has actually been referenced pretty often and its been the butt of many jokes....along with all of the receipts posted in this thread.

Bionic was the first big one in a while and kind of the standard in stan culture.




ARTPOP doesn't compare to those....it had two hit singles and didn't do that badly. It's sold about 2 million WW. Didn't sell much less than some other artists who were seen as having huge eras. I don't look at Blackout as one either because it had a couple of decently sized hits, and all of the other stuff with her personal life was what really got publicity....and that's not related to the music.

Brandy going from 16 million to 3 million

Then 3 million to 1 million

Then 1 million to 500k

Then 500k to 300k

Glitter.

Mariah had just signed one of the most lucrative recording contracts in history.
She was one of the 90's biggest hit makers, with multiple sales and chart records under her belt.
Then the album dropped.
Virgin PAYED Mariah somewhere around $28 MILLION to LEAVE the label.
That's how hard it tanked.
I still feel so bad for her dealing everything she had to go through around that time.

Glitter is the only answer. It's iconic because the GP actual knows about it flopping. Unlike Bionic, Britney Jean, AKA where the GP is unaware at the flopage.

Mariah & Glitter. Literally yesterday a joke was made by that Channel 7 show w/ Rachey Ray or w/e where they were making glittered pinecones and one of the hosts mentioned Mariah and the whole crowd laughed.

It was even more ironic because she was so full of herself going into it.
