The video depicts Swift as a 'serial-dater' and opens with her love interest turning up at her castle, driving an AC Cobra. Swift greets her love interest and the two dine together before engaging in various recreational activities such as ballroom dancing, cycling and painting. Swift hangs up the portrait of her new lover in a hallway filled with defaced portraits of ex-lovers, admiring its beauty. Deeply in love, the pair carves their names in a tree before sharing a kiss. Later they go out for a picnic at which it becomes apparent to Swift that her lover is texting another woman, enraging her. The couple fight, with Swift accusing her lover of cheating before throwing objects at him in a fit of jealous rage. Swift is then shown singing alone by a fireplace her face streaked with mascara. She tosses her lover's phone into a fountain, much to his annoyance. She defaces the original portrait of her lover by stabbing into it with a knife and tearing the canvas apart. She proceeds to slice up one of his shirts with a pair of scissors and cut out two holes in another one, leaving his nipples exposed. As her lover surveys the hallway of portraits of defaced ex-lovers, he discovers that he is not the first that Swift has treated in such a way. However, he is too late to stop her from vandalizing his car with a golf club as well as destroying a heart-shaped cake. Swift continues attacking the car and her lover, who flees from the castle driving the damaged vehicle. As soon as he is gone, another vintage car arrives at the castle, with another potential victim getting out of it. He and Swift give each other a look, and as Swift smiles in a sinister way the screen cuts to black.
