Yes, welcome to your new life.
I get up somewhere between 10:45-11pm, jump on the treadmill for an hour while I watch what our competitors did the previous day and how we can improve our show. I then get ready to be at the studio by 2:30 to prep the entire day. Adjusting scripts, checking in with our international correspondents, briefing production on the rundown of the show, prepping the green room for our guests. When the makeup artist calls in sick, I have to take over and get 4 hosts ready and presentable by 5am. The show runs through till 9, but never finishes on time. It's a good day if we're off the air by 9:45. We then go straight into meetings to discuss the next show while planning ahead for special occasions, like outdoor concerts, location shots etc. That finishes somewhere around 12-12:30, then I head off to run any errands I might have, get back home, eat, and in bed hopefully before 4.
This doesn't include when you have to cover breaking news, red carpet premieres or when you have work related functions at night, which are a common occurrence. So say goodbye to sleep and any normal social life.
I hope you enjoy
