You don't get to decide what's offensive or not. "Paki" is a derogatory term in the UK and that's a fact. There's a reason why Charli's mom had a milkshake thrown at her after being called the word. Did you really think it was just a misunderstanding and they were being too sensitive?
FYI Pakistanis are never offended when you call them "Paki." The ghetto ones call themselves that!

Okay well race/nationality I got them confused.
I have never used it in a derogatory way, I like in the UK and like Charli states, I usually say 'Paki' when I say 'I'm going to the Paki shop' which refers to Premier stores which are more often than not run by Pakistani immigrants.
Paki is not the same as *****. Paki is short for Pakistani like Brit is short from British and Yanks is what we call Americans here. I think people are way too offended and as you say, Pakistanis aren't typically offended, it's usually poltically correct white people who use it as an excuse to complain.
Sure, racism is wrong and terrible. But I think sometimes people are too easily offended. Like, it's okay for black people to call stuff 'white trash' or 'that's such a white girl/boy thing to do' but if I said the same of black people I'm a terrible, immoral person?
That's not equality. That's a double standard.
