If it was the second highest rated cable film of the year than maybe you could have afforded to give it a bigger budget

Aaliyah's parents wanted something on the big screen but Blackground Records would've been awful from the get-go with song licensing. Any biopic in tv or theaters either before this or in the future is bound to be a mess under any circumstances.

She has a point. When it comes to television the only thing that matters is how many people tuned in. Just like how the number of viewers for her show damn near doubled just because people were perched to see what SHE had to SAY about the movie.

And exactly what were yall expecting from a made for TV movie on Lifetime after knowing BEFORE you tuned in what the cast looked like and that there would be no Aaliyah music actually being played Why did yall tune in anyway? EXACTLY.
