I know the one big question many GTA fans are waiting for me to answer right now: is GTA 5 on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One worth buying again, for a full $60, if you already own it on PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360? Sadly, that’s not a question any reviewer can answer for you. If you already own GTA 5, you’re the only one who can decide whether a prettier, better-performing version of the same game is worth paying for twice, and whether you even have enough HDMI ports on your TV to support keeping your old-gen console plugged in to go back and play the old version. You have to ask yourself if that experience is one you’d want to repeat, or if you’d rather move onto one of the many new games that’ve come out since.

Pros: Amazing next gen visuals and incredible attention to detail. New first person view works very well and is fully customisable. GTA Online is available from day one and looks just as good.
Cons: The story is as vague and meandering as ever, with not a single virtuous character in the whole cast. Gunplay and driving could still be better, and first person view doesn’t work in every situation.

Rockstar Games revisits last year's heist-filled romp with a new version on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. With the new power, the developer has added more depth and life to the world of Los Santos. It's the same game, but the new visual effects and first-person mode provides a strong experience. It's not completely worth a double-dip if you tore through the original GTA V, but it's definitely worth a second look.

I've logged a few hours into the PlayStation 4 version, and my early takeaway from it can be summed up in one word: Wow! The first-person view point is implemented beautifully, giving players a more intimate look at the little details in the world, and a better perspective for combat. The lighting and draw distance are improved, and thus far, I haven't experienced a graphical hiccup or framerate glitch. It seems like it's running at a smooth 30 frames per second. I can't do anything other than award the highest score to this edition. While there are still some shortcomings, nevertheless it's a masterpiece. GTA has never been better.
